Jonny Willy Get Well Comments
After suffering a horrendous crash in a motorcycle racing incident, Jonny is on the long road to recovery after taking a physical beating.
We all love him dearly, so please, write your messages away and make him laugh and lets get him on the mend…
In time we will be able to post news, but bear with us we are not that techie!!
Thanks to you all for all your support.

Back again…
Well Jonny Boy got a bit of too many friends ticking off last week, limited when we go now, meant to have been interfering too much with his rehab! Anyway, if bargain is kept up they are going to try him in the electric wheel chair, maybe not racing wheels, but wheels at least! He appears to like his OT very much, but then she is blond and blue eyed…Anyway, they keeping him longer at the rehab centre as they happy with his progress. Which is allowing rest of us to take a break over half term for some recuperation and not running around at 100miles an hour all the time.
Some great reports from his friends in the James name camp, (far too many of you!), think I must be boring him silly, we never used to see each other every day before this, so must seem very alien to have Wifey there more than previous!
Kids all fine. James handwriting classes paying off, got a Headteacher reward for his skill! Tamsin is on a good behaviour star chart (I must remember to use it properly) and Nathan proved he is a cynic like his mum and walked out of his alternative massage therapy at school for the last 3 sessions…
Hi Jonny and family, sorry we havent been in touch for a while, a lot of personal stuff keeping us busy … absolutely love the new photo … keep strong, we’re thinking of you

Hi Jonny
Sorry haven’t been on for a while, doesn’t mean we’ve not been thinking about you. Good to see your new photo with the kids. I couldn’t make the Jonny ‘o’ thon although I’m sure it was a good craik for those who did. My mate and I did do the Holme Valley Mountain Bike Challenge again a few weeks back. Least ways this time I didn’t fall off or have a mechanical breakdown like the last two years. Managed a reasonable 3 hours 30 mins and 9 bloody seconds! (So three and half hours if anyone asks) which is about an hour better than my previous times. Some poor guy binned it in a big way and is no longer with us, gulp! Dangerous things these two wheeled machines, with or without engines eh? Hopefully having a go at one in Calderdale in a couple of weeks. People say that’s a tough one so not expecting a fast time first time out. Back home we’re still plodding on with the farm. Even with our small number of cows we have had some calves. One cow can’t rear her own calf so she will have to go. Mum (mainly) and I are bucket rearing the calf and have now bought him a little (well she’s bigger actually) friend to rear alongside him. The latest calf to be born is now a little over a fortnight old. Right from the word go she was wick as a weasel and her mum is a bit keen/aggressive/protective so despite my efforts I haven’t managed to get her tagged yet. She can spot me coming from a mile off and then do 30mph in the opposite direction. Not a chance unless I can catch her asleep laying down when her mum is not looking. Strangely she had two bloodshot eyes when born which looked really weird as she had no whites to her eyes. That faded eventually and now her baby brown eyes are rimmed with white again. David Braithwaite came to muck the cattle shed out last week and discovered his new loader tractor is too big to get into the shed. I think he was maybe being a bit over cautious as I think he’d have just got in but maybe when your sitting on all that expensive machinery it’s more comfortable to have more than just 3 or 4 inches clearance. Cue another potential Health & Safety Executive potential nightmare; me stood, balanced on top of one of our smaller tractors whilst cutting lumps off the timber cladding above my head with a circular saw at about 3 metres off the ground about 9pm but at least with some light on the job. Still I managed it without losing any fingers or falling off and David was able to come back the following day and finish off the job. Not much else to say right now except keep getting better. All the best from all at Fulstone Hall.
jonny – great to see you the other day – glad to see the twinkle in your eye…..looking forward to my next visit….as promised we will escape to the pub…joking annabelle. love you loads Suzi xxxxx

Oopps, sorry forgot the usual kid update…
James is doing really well, has completely OD’d on footie this week, got him tickets for Liverpool vs Leeds he was in the Liverpool stand, a scouser lifted him up and shook him when they scored…think he was rather bewildered!! He also got man o’ the match when we kicked butt, 12-0 this morning, he got a Torres hat trick of 4 goals!! Anyone wishing to sign him, pls respond!
Nathan has a new method to add to his madness, going into the shower fully clothed and proceeding to walk around the house…added to that he keeps turning on the oven, nice combination there..
Tamsin…well she did get the lead in The Devil Wears Disney and an Oscar nomination is on the way…
Well hello..
Just back from meeting all the tragic (due to bottom problems) mates of Mr H, and have they done good!!! Albeit they are very tired. It was lovely to see them all…and THANKS!!!
@ Mr Day – Dixon and Franks done good, two rugs (more required still), sold in under 10 minutes at an extortionate price, you were right.
I now know why Mr Pink Thong Wearing Andrew next door went on the bike trip, as drive and pot holes tarmac’d Saturday and we had to vacate our houses by 8am to not return till 3ish…Nice one John!!!
Me and the kids stayed and had the Pinderfields Sunday roast with Jonny today..think he has been hospital cloned as he has started eating puddings, good job he lost some weight, previous to accident he was always on a diet…(well curry and beer, but at home it was muesli and yoghurt on good diet days!).
Jonny been a bit down in the dumps last couple of days, maybe a little because he is just so frustrated, and maybe a little because all his mates have had a knees up without him but on his behalf.
Anyway, nuff from me, thanks lads!
Looking good Jonny. So nice to see you with the kids.
Thinking of you.
Lots of love
Tony & Mo

Hi hon,
Great to see the picture of you looking so well, looking forward to you coming back to Woodlea. You will be pleased to hear that you and John channeling the posative thoughts on the tarmac has resulted in what we hope will be a beautiful and long awaited job done on Saturday… hurray!
It was great to see the boy’s setting off today, I took Mia to wave them off. Their was a lorry full of bikes, water and i’m quite sure plenty of larger. I was helping to get John’s things ready this morning and as I’m working my way down the check list… first aid kit – check, puncture kit – check – sun cream – check, porn mag and lube WHAT! Thirty odd blokes, together with copious amounts of larger, porn mags and lube – should we be concerned!
Anyway hats off to them all I think it’s fab what their doing, you my friend have got some good buddies out their, your an amazing guy who is deeply loved by all who have been lucky enough to meet you.
See you soon
Love from all x
P.S. spell check not working, sorry, bit poor at English, good at reading though, ‘must try harder’ always seemed to appear!
Hello Jonny,
Just logged on to see if there’s any progress & see the picture has changed!
Fab picuture of you and the children, looking good!
Keep up the good work.
x Michelle & Clive, Dylan & Dex
Hi Jonny
I don’t know you from Adam but I guess you have been dealt a bad hand recently. Just to let you know I am sponsoring Mike Smith for the bike ride. I hope you get better soon. Keep your pecker up !!
Chris
Hi Jonny
Still watching your progress on weekly basis, keep up the good work and great photo on front page. Last mini race of the season this weekend at Snetterton so need to get the “connection” car on the podium, will do my best but most likely end up on its roof as usual!.
All in the industry still ask after you on regualer basis so keep on track yourself.
Steve
Great picture of Jonny and the kids at the top of the blog.
Brilliant to see the progress. Well done!
Thinking of you all everyday.
See you soon Jonny.
Yeah butif that`s red it beomes a matter for an electrician

….or indeed the other variety of rug that jonny is so fond of…..
Wifey. I think Jonny might have been talking about the Rug for the head. I know many times Jonny has confessed to me his all consuming desire to be the full Ginger. I do know that before you 2 got together he had had several aborted attempts to “Rinse up Red”.
No fear after the C2C, if I am still alive I am away to Ireland. I will visit Kitty McGinity on the Isle of Innishboffin and commission her to construct a special headpiece in “Celtic Warrior Red”
@Wifey
Eyup mr and mrs H.
Messrs Dixon and Franks of Honley carry an excellent stock of Indian and persian rugs and offer a try before you buy service for a week or so . Im not sure if they envisaged mangy old retrievers lolling around all over and drunken students sitting crossed legged and spilling booze over the on trial ruggage but we to winged it and get most of the ground in pizza and pimms removed before we finally managed to whittle down the choice and sent the excess back. They may even deliver to as far afield as the Hill suite at the Hospital.
ps Whoever came up with this jonny-o-thon coast to coast ride was some kind of lunatic howl at the moon crackpot, but I have to say it is getting me out of the house on an night / weekend and Nurse Gladys tells me Im actually looking better, which kind of proves a point that the outside is no indicator of the inside as body parts I didnt know I had are now aching – 110 miles ish racked up last week as training. Quite proud of myself as the last time I was on a bike previously was doing my Sunday paper round in down town Birky, a two bagger mind, and that was … a long time ago… I now have to hone my drinking skills to the same level of some of the other riders.. a thankless job, but someone has to do it
[ANNIE]
The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There’ll be sun!
Just thinkin’ about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
‘Til there’s none!
When I’m stuck a day
That’s gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!
The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
‘Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You’re always
A day
A way!

Am back with a task set by Lord and Master…some things do not change…
Talking about home, I asked him if there was anything he wanted me to do before he got back for some visits..”rugs…” RUGS??? He was a but annoyed a wee while ago (well two years actually!) when I bought a little very cute mutt (for an extortionate price to Jonny, and I am thinking how much do you spend on bikes each year!!), well dog got vengeance and ate the corners off all the rugs in our house…Turns out Jonny got more on his mind than just getting better! So off I go rug shopping…
The other thing he asked for was tarmac…not sure if John next door has been hypnotising him to think this as when I went round there yesterday self inviting the family to lunch, he collared me on this too….what is it with you blokes…Well I suppose pot holes one metre wide and nearly as deep does need some sorting.
He has been doing some movements (small but then Everest is not climbed in five minutes!!) in his legs and is following motor instructions well..The Jonny Hill determination is alive and kicking still!
C. Day. When you were “resting” outside the said house of ill repute, did you manage to notice the opening times and full price list of services offered ? just wondering……..
With an Iron man competition the previous weekend fading into a distant nightmare, sammy the evergreen human version of a can of redbull, mentioned that there was another such event this weekend and we should enter, the event was the Hade Edge Challenge, 30 odd miles of a former SAS training route, where 519 foolhardy entrants had also been fooled into thinking this sounds like a good idea from a so called mate. The 3 brainwashed fools entered were, ‘Red Bull Sammy”Thumbelina Tim’
and ‘The Back marker’
Thumbelina had even put his daughters bike that he was using for the event in for a few repairs, and was particularly pleased with the new pink bell and handlebar tassles.
So the plan was that Red Bull was going to do his own thing and bugger off into the distance and the back marker and thumbelina were going to hold each others hands as long as possible.
At around the 20 mile stage we came across a horrible accident were some poor chap had fallen off at some speed down hill and was in need of hospital treatment,i hope he is ok because he was in a mess, we were the first on the scene when some old Nora Batty type person appeared from the house he had just hit and called the ambulance, well at least we gained a place there i think i heard tim say !
So with the winner already back signing pictures of himself that he just happened to have with him,in an incedible time of 2 hours and 1 minute, we start out on the last 10 miles of hell.
Red Bull, just managed to get back in time to get one of the last signed photos of the winner in a very respectable time of 2h35mins.
Thumbelina had to have Rosies bike back for a certain time so pushed on as only a proud father would, leaving the back marker to assume his name sakes place.
Tims time was 3h20mins and mine 3h28mins .
It was a great challenge and well done to all,i am just glad it only happens once a year !
Still thinking about u my friend …….
Keep going Jonny…..
All our continued love

very fitting lyrics posted by wifey, so may I suggest a poem ?
Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:—
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said
“What writest thou?”—The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered “The names of those who love the Lord.”
“And is mine one?” said Abou. “Nay, not so,”
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still, and said “I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men.”
The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And lo! Ben Adhem’s name led all the rest.

Hello to all again
Well is been an up and down couple of days…had an update meeting for Jonny with his medical team and therapists on Friday, and have to say, Jonnyboy was on top form. Told them the reason he did not talk sometimes was because “could not be bothered!”. When I arrived he said clear as day “Hello sweetheart…” to which I replied, “oh so you love me then”, “course I do”…Mushy stuff, but bloody fab!
Anyway, just having a bit of a SPOTIFY night, came across Coldplay, and something to share with you, one of Jonny’s favourite songs, Fix You…how he felt about Nathan and his autism, sentimental, but sometimes nice to share his thoughts as he not able to talk to the masses..will do it for him..Reason being Nathan loves bright lights, so kinda apt…
So Jonny, over to you:
When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse.
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above earth or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears stream, down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face and I…
Tears stream, down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face and I…
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.
Bloody love Spotify, thanks to my dad for introducing it to me!!
Hi hon,
Just got back from Spain couple of hours ago, been away for 3 weeks so seems a long time. Glad to hear things are going well. Congrats on your anniversary and what a pressie, I can almost taste that curry, I’m dying for one!
We’ll catch up with the family over the weekend Tyler kept asking if Tamsin could come round and play when we were in Spain, bless him.
So short but sweet, I’m loosing my functions I’m so tierd so I’ll catch you later.
All our love xxx
hey snotts,
good to hear that you on the road to recovery, i keep reading the blog just to see how you are getting on, im sure its going to take awhile, but you seem to be getting there, sure it wont be too long before your back to your old tricks….
Hi Supertrooper,
Best wishes for you and Annabelle with your 9 years.
Good to read you are making progress. We have opened our Benelux showroom. The comment are very positive. Hope you get well soon so you can come and visit.
Greatings, Arjan
Update on J, then apologies later…
Jonny is kinda doing great, but is also pretty emotional. He is really missing the kids, and I wonder sometimes if we are the best people for him to see on such a regular basis! I have rallied round the BF troops and reckon they will do the job to cheer him up…
Its our wedding anniversary today, 9 years. One cannot but wonder that we have had some major shite to get through in that time. For those who don’t know, James was born with a dicky foot and had to undergo three operations by the time he was five. Then Mr Happy Flappy Clapper, Nathan, with all his problems. Tamsin, the vision of an angel, but has won the lead role in “The Devil Wears Disney” (love them all dearly!)…And now this…Enough is enough! Not that I am complaining really, you get what you get in life.
Anyway, went to the local curry house, majorly frequented by Mr Hill pre accident…gave them the low down on current curry recipe do’s and don’ts and took him a lamb bhuna. If you can picture the most beautiful sun rise, that was our Jonny…bhuna did good for him tonight! All in all, not a bad anniversary in current conditions!
And I am guilty as charged….apologies for the large gap since my last update…its not good I know, my excuses are only that I seem to be going to bed around midnight each evening, waking far to early and still seem to not be finishing everything I need to do! xx
Hello Jonny
It’s Sunday night and I’m watching TV with your James and my Jo.
we take turns on the hula hoop as we watch TV.

Hi J
Just back form a few days off- went to the Test match with Coley, Brownie and Stevie P. Great day and we had a few beers for you whilst reflecting that cricket wodul be a far from ideal JH pastime. Im not sure if youve ever been but we figured your interest would be about 20 minutes before you disappeared to get up to nonsense. You will be staggered to hear we were allk back hoem at 10.00 pm- getting old!
Just spent three days under canvas in Sussex and have sleep deprivation as well as being sunburnt.
Great to hear you are getting more talaktaive and involved, keep up the good work pal, hope to see you soon.
Love
Si x
Hey up J
I need your advice.
I’ve just bought a bouncy seat contraption to ease myself in the C2C and I’m embarassed to say my bum feels better already. I bought cream as well just in case but I’m not sure I’ll need it now…
The question is.. where to apply the Vasoline…
Keep on smiling fella.
Lots of love
Tim % Co
Excellent news re your talking, though you were never short of a quip or two! Lyn and I have been on a 140ft boat in the Med so out of touch (wonderful time and at least a stone heavier, we are home). Kara is now teaching kite surfing in Brazil for three months in the sunshine and she read the blog before she left…she suggests that kite surfing might be safer for you, though if you land too quickly an enema is almost obligatory!
Delighted to hear that A’s spirits are as high as ever. Keep on pushing…
PJ
Hello old fruit… Sorry I’ve not been in touch for a week or so – been abroad with the family on a Summer jolly. Managed to stay away from Internet related technology whilst away, but was still working hard – all-inclusively regaining the weight I’d lost whilst training for the York 10K! It’s amazing how 6 weeks of training can be undone in a week of relaxing by the pool. I’m gonna hit the streets again tomorrow with a 5km run and see just how much the holiday has affected me!
Anyway – enough of my ramblings – back to you… Sounds like progress is continuing well and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon and catching up.
I have to say – the Web site is looking excellent, and the Jon’O'thon bike ride looks set to take the country by storm. I’m sure that, for the duration of the ride, they’ll be much further advertising and broadcasting of your circumstances by all involved. I wonder if it might be possible to get a film crew to accompany the ride… I’m sure it would be able to capture and popularize the cause (not to mention obtaining hours worth of quality mishap-related footage to send off to YBF, thereby raising loads more money for you!).
See you soon,
Cheers,
Tommy.
Hi Jonny I am so pleased to read of the progress you are making and keep up the hard work everyone as you know from this blog is routing for you. Like many (I suspect) I read the comments and keep up with your progress wishing there was more we could do to help even if I don’t write as often as I should! Wifey you are are an inspiration to the nation and deserve a medal in gold as large as they can strike them. Our thoughts and prayers as always are with you both and of course your family. Take care very best wishes Paul
Checking in again…
Its been a bit of a rollercoaster emotional week, for Jonny and definitely me! We had the fund raising gala for the rehab unit and whilst he loved being in the hub of all the noise and crowd (nothing changed there then!), realisation that he canot fully participate the way he wants at this current time, is something he is now tackling.
Jonny has been doing well in the last couple of weeks, he is talking to more people now rather than a few chosen, albeit sometimes it is very quiet, it will take a while to take to full Jonny chuckle mode. Definitely has not forgotten his love for his iphone! He is very aware of his environment and circumstances now, knows he has had an accident and that he has “lost” some time –
A discharge date has been given for him to move from the acute rehab, so next stage is been worked on, this would probably be coming home and private rehab, but its a bit of a moving goal post situation, so will keep you all up in the know when its all been worked out.
Jonny,
It’s been a while since i logged onto Jonnywilly. Fabulous to read that you’ve made leaps and bounds since i last read the blog. Think about you alot mate, not in a ‘girly touchy bottom’ sort of way!
Anyway, look forward to buying you a pint soon. And if you hadn’t heard, the Farnley Cock is opening again tonight, thank God! The last landlord buggered off with the takings and has not been seen since.(I actually wrote that for everyone else to see too actually!) New landlord is from The Duke of York pub in New Mill.
Sorry Annabel to use this as an announcement page! Hope you’re well too,
Guy Robbo and the girls and the bump(it’s a boy!) xxx
Hi Jonny,
As you can tell not much of a blogger but wow this is some professional site now isn’t it!
Just thinking about you and how brilliantly you’re doing. It’s nice to see a little twinkle in your eye again…not that we ever doubted your ability to fight the fight.
We’ve just come back from a barge holiday in Leicestershire. A bit different from Majorca – Edward took care of that cancellation when he decided to have fisty cuffs with the local sheep dog – but it was great. Highly recommend it but not what you call 2 wks on the beach!!!
I’ll be looking forward to catching up with you soon.
Robyn xx
Hello Jonny
Wonderful to hear more good news —- keep up the fight …..
Not much to say — just that I’m home alone again , family away in Spain — so just watching the ‘box’ — ‘Bear Grylls’ is on at 11pm – so look toward to watching that crazy boy !!!
Started seeing Rob Charnock at the gym in the morning — think he tries to get fit for the big bike ride.
I still swim in the morning — so Rob now calls me ‘flipper’ !
Bye for now my friend ……….
Love ady
Hi Jonny,
Well it’s all to play for at the Oval now for the Ashes. Can’t believe i’m actually hooked now! John had a spare ticket for Edgbaston so thought I’d go along for the ride plus two days and a night away from the kids, got to do it every now and again to keep me sane! Anyway had a fab time, thought about you while we were their, even said to john ‘Jonny would love this, you just sit for 7 hours drinking beer in the sun’, or rain as the case was on the Thursday. Anyway I think he realised it was a bad move when I told him I wanted to go to Headingly, the boys trips to cricket have sadly come to an end, wifey now on board! We had some spare tickets so Tony took James and a friend he was so excited that morning I thought he was going to pop! So a date for your dairy in 2013 the Ashes back here so we’ll all go together.
We still think about you daily, even Mia asked the other day ‘ mummy when is Jonny coming home’ bless her.
Keep up the good work hon, still got the vodka in the freezer waiting for you!
All our love ‘the Andrew’s xxx
P.S my spell check is not working so I appologise to all for my terrible spelling!
Hello
Little update for all..
Few things happening…therapists getting Jonny standing each day now…downgraded or upgraded his chair, not sure if it goes any faster, but this new one has two wheels so may feel more appropriate to Jonny.. Likes talking to people on the phone and is becoming quite the musician with a new found liking to instruments, I am wondering here if my dad has been making secret visits to see Jonny and is prepping him to be involved in his band now J not working 24hrs a day!!
My uncle has got some Indian Vedic / Yagya (?!) Astrologer (think thats right) doing some stuff in that land which is to do with the planets and plotting of dates and times based on birth, significant incidents and accident time, will not do any harm, but may do good. Anyone interested in more I can point you in my uncle’s direction, just requires a donation to the Yagya cause..
Taking the kids to a caravan for a few days Mon – Thursday next week, promise made prior to Jonny accident, and bit of fun needed as often as poss these days for them. So prob no posts from me till end of next week.
Till then….
Great to hear you are on the mend , i wasnt joking when i said am going to put your name down at woodsome hall golf club for membership ,its much safer and the bar is open all day.
There is an interview process but as soon as you mention that you would spend over £25,000 on beer in one year they will let you in even if you are crap !!!
Looking forward to seeing you home at some point, pal
All our Love
John ,Diane,Mia, Tyler , oliver……. Andrew
Hi Jonny
You spanner head! I can’t turn my back for a second without you doin’ something silly!!
I have really missed bumping into you running past our house and our quick chats. When you get yourself sorted I will get you out running again after all you need someone to keep an eye on you.
So pleased you are getting better, remember there are only a few important muscles you need to exercise to start with !! No anatomy explanations required!
I am really looking forward to seeing you again. Missed your forever happy face and smile at Prima this year.
I will try to pop in and see you soon. Not sure quite where you are though.
Hi Annabelle, are you happy for me to visit and if so can you let me know where I need to go.
Love to you both

Hi J
Hope things are going ok oevr in wakey!
Popped down to the Woodman for the first time in a while last night ( you know my body is a temple theses days!). Its not the same without you down there. Saw Greeny and a couple of very tough looking goons who actually drove off in a banana yellow Ka, which rather spoiled the illusion for me. Phil W was down there showing off the photo of dawn over Emley mast that he had published in the Examiner- he was quite misty eyed about the whole thing the great jessie! Bullock suggetsed the caption should read “Sunrise by Phil Whittell agede 41 & 3/4″
I cant make your cycleathon , partly because Im doing the GNR on the Sun, partly beacuse its my wedding anniversary and partly because of the fearsome team going. It will be a miracle if they make it from coast to coast, it will be like GreyFriras Bobbie on bikes. Darent think about Colesy rear end that has been perched on his flash leather chair for years, hes going to look like a baboon.
Anyway old boy, back to work, somenones got to.
Annabelle- when you are back from hols, just realised I have your driving licence!
J- hope to see you soon, keep fighting

Hi Jonny – things are sounding very positive with your progress – good lad; keep it up! Unfortunatley I can’t make the Jonny O’Thon bike ride but I am running the York 10K tomorrow and have made you my ’cause’. I am trying to raise funds for you via my friends on facebook (and anyone else I can lean on!) via the Jonny O’Thon link. Just thought I’d post this on here so you know what I’m up to.
Will be over to see you again soon mate.
Cheers for now,
Tommy.
Small update…
Jonny fab Monday and Tuesday, sharing giggles. Got him eating some yoghurt on Monday… Have heard that his time at the acute rehab unit is up around October, at which point a decision will be made in the next few weeks on how to move on next and all dependent on his progress. The Jonny o’thon will help massively (big thanks to those signed up, think there are only 4 spaces left now!)..if we need to send him to private rehab then as this will give him the extra pushes he requires. Am getting quotes to perhaps do any modifications at home so this would be an option too.
Thanks a million, once again! Hills at Home x
@anonymous inmate – just to say thanks very much, means a lot to all of us. If could let email off blog so can thank you properly, annabelle.hill@btopenworld.com…
Hi, Jonny!
Spoke with your dad this morning and was so pleased to hear the encouraging news! People ’round the world are thinking about you, including this one in the U.S. Join us soon!
Hi Jonny,
10.30 — just come in from the garden — made a big mistake last week —- never put grow fast seed on the grass — my garden is out of control — it’s like a ‘bloody’ forest —- but my stripes look wonderfull !!
Think I’m turning into a lawn mower freak — Chelsea flower show for me next year ….
The nights are getting shorter — but the headlights show me the way —- !!
Must go now my friend — think I’ve got ‘white knuckle finger’ from the beast I’ve been driving for the last 3hrs !
Keep up the fight & be strong …… Still I’m my thoughts
Love
Ady –
Hello Jonny,
It’s 7pm on Tuesday evening.
I’m sat in the UCI Cinema in Wakefield.
I’m having a Fanta mixed slush & nachos – then I have James sat next to me eating the UCI Combo meal — then next to James I have my Joseph eating a Fanta slush and a bar of chocolate.
We sit watching Harry Potter & the half blood prince !!!!!
Both boys sit with their eyes glazed wide open filling their mouths —- wonderfull to see !
I think then the boys are takeing me to the KFC !
Lots of love — Ady & the 2 UCI boys

GReat idea for the bike o thon will ask around if anyone interested as not everyone knows about the blog, good to know you home safe and well annabelle catch up with you if ya like lol xxx
Well we are back from our week long hols. A great break though was hard not seeing Jonny..Kids have had a ball. Nathan has been so well behaved all week, how Mr Autism manages to calm everyone in his nonsensical (?) world I do not know but he does.
Jonny has been very tired in the last few days and has had a wee bit of a temperature. However given that he did manage to tell his mum he loved her and has built up a bit more strength in his body..
The therapy they do is a lot more intensive than when in normal hospital. The support workers are the unit have been telling me how he has been trying to wash himself and has started muttering words to them now..
We have a meeting Monday as an update to what they will be doing with him at rehab and even how long this section of his rehab will take.
As always thanks for the comments and to all those for agreeing to do the bike ride – you must all be mad!! (But cannot tell you how much we appreciate it! – its quite overwhelming really).
hi Jonny
Just watching Nigela on tv — she’s cooking ribs in a honey sauce — now she’s putting the jackets in the oven.
I would not mind going for tea at her house — wow she is a big girl !!
Ady
Ps — she now is eating with friends
heard about the bike ride jonny and seeing if it can be accommodated
reminds me of that goathland/beck hole weekend [more innuendo fnarr fnarr] and up to our necks crossing a river bikes over our heads!
benn/eubank and an exotic dancer.. did that really happen?
give em hell
As one of the many silent masses we are so glad that Jonny is making some recovery, it will all take time but there is loads of that. We were at Suzie Donaldson’s wedding a few weekends ago and lots of people were concerned about how things were going. Let’s hope that now Jonny is in a good environment his recovery will come on leaps and bounds.
I am sure that Annabelle is having a very well deserved rest and hopefully not being too concerned about hubby.
Sorry that I cannot do the Jonny o thon bike ride, I either fall off a bike now or just go round in circles. If you need any help with transport at the other end though could do that.
Take care and keep up getting better.
Love from
Graham and Becks xxx
ps Adrian, can you stop talking about your tractor, I am getting very jealous.
Hi Jonny,
well its been a long time since we last spoke and so much has happened during the past few months. With things going on in business I was not originally aware of your accident and I was so shocked when I heard.
You are without doubt one of the most proffessional, polite, helpful and friendly people I have had the pleasure to work with and my thoughts are with you and your family for a speedy recovery. You are a tough and determined guy and you will get there, kelvi told me that you are moving a little and starting to talk which is fantastic, but just make sure that you sit on a decent chair when you come out of hospital.
Will write again soon.
best wishes
Alan
Morning Jonny
Decided not to go to Cyprus this Wendesday — so the family are out their still , I hear from Liz that Anebelle is out with the children — think they all went up to the last castle today for Sunday lunch !
My Joseph is at yours tonight with James for a sleep over.
Hope they all have a good week — as they all fly back on Saturday.
Been at the gym most of the weekend — just chilling out in the not sure what you call it — but I call it the bubbly pool — getting used to been alone.
Went to the ‘flying pizza’ for tea with family — food was dreadful — think I stick to acres !
Weather been poor this weekend — so unable to get my stripes — look forward to getting the tractor out this week — very sad , but I enjoy it !!
Got to go now as I’m up in 5 hrs
Bye for now my old friend
Ady

Hi Jonny,
Jonny — we do wish & pray to get you home soon , life is going by so fast , I hear Sally has had a baby boy , I’m sure she will be touching base soon with you —- well done Sally.
Family are in Cyprus at the moment — so again I’m home alone, getting a little bored , but the peace and quiet is very much appreciated — I fly out next week to meet up with them all next week — I think Annabelle is out their , so I’m sure we will be meeting up.
It’s a strange life Jonny — we had all booked Cyprus so we could all meet up out their — but now we end up like this.
Just started to build my garage / granny flat — so when your better – you and the family can come round for a meal — should have it built for October — so u need to focus on getting better.
Took Joe to FATCATS the other weekend on his moto x bike — not sure if he likes it as much as I do !
Well Jonny it’s 12.50 am so must get some beauty sleep !
Take care Jonny — don’t forget u r only 15 minutes away from us —- so hope to see more of u.
Love to u and the family
Bye for now

The Hills at home are off on holiday on saturday for a week (was meant to be three but feel better for reducing the time, not sure we can be away from Hubby Hill that long)..Looking in the fridge there is not much there to feed the 3 kids staring at me with their hungry tummies…
Jonny, your sis and Mr P, Sally and Steve have had a baby boy, 8lbs 3oz called Woody Maxwell Pinnock, (fab name don’t you think)… Great news for Steve, not sure if we should let Woody know his name is down for the 6 Nations and Ashes trials before he can even walk, talk or tantrum..
The big man is continuing to do shape up nicely. He is getting to know his nurses and therapists at the new place and appears to be responding to numerous people now. Couple of weeks of assessing and then they will have a better picture of what they have to do with him (or what he has in store for them!) to get him back home where he belongs and we need him. Found him an appropriate t-shirt to wear anyway – “this guy needs a beer” on the front, they will work him out well from that I think.
As you have all probably worked out, we have a few technical hitches with setting up the Jonny o’thon side of the blog, sorry about – still working on it.
So darling, updates enough, we will miss you terribly and love you so much, Wifey James Torres Hill, Forest Gump Hill & Princess Tamsin xx
Amazing news, after all the problems he can’t piss! I think several pints would cure that problem as I don’t recall him having a problem in the past; he was always first to the loo, or was that avoiding the ordering?
News sounds great…keep on getting better.
PJ and Lyn
Well everyone, I made my first visit to our Jonny this afternoon. He was sat in the sun in the delightful outside quiet quadrangle with his mum and his Mrs. Having woken up and collected his thoughts I think he knew his Uncle K was there and eventually we got a glimpse of the wicked smile. He seemed concerned with his itchy face. When the staff learned that he usually had a wet shave rather than an electric one they said they would wet shave him in future and his chubby chops will be more comfortable. Its going to take a long time but I was impressed with the progress so far. I must pay tribute to the patient devotion Annabelle provides for him, a true heroine, enjoy your holiday my dear, you deserve it! Oh, and happy birthday Sals for next week and I hope everything comes out all right tomorrow – as it were!
Hey jonnny
I sorry I cant be there I now goneo to Madrido I see you soono in Nandos !!

Hi Jonny Boy –
Excellent news on the continuing recovery curve. Don’t get yourself expelled from the rehab unit for bad behaviour!

Hi to all
A few things here…
1) Coddy and Andy are organising a bike ride for all those that want to help in some way, to put something in for a private rehab programme for the wee chappy…so you will see the blog has changed slightly to include this…
2) Jonny is now in his rehab unit having left hospital on Thursday – so its great news here..Its a really friendly unit and much more relaxed for him (and us!!).
Little story for you all, when asked by this OT last Monday when showing some signs of pain, he said, “I can’t piss” – seems like the old fella is still around !!!
Onwards and upwards. And thanks for all the messages, they are passed on x
Hi annabelle,
We haven’t met but i went to school with jonny,it’s really good to hear that he is making good progress. Please send on my best wishes to him my nick name was teeth at school (long story )but tell him to keep going

Hello Jonny,
Just finished unblocking our septic tank — my hands and arms stink —- I’ve washed but still unable to get shot of the smell —- must inform Liz …….
Love ya
Ady
Hi Jonny
Sorry that I’ve not visited the blog recently, been all over the place.
We all went to that Upperthong thingy too on Sunday before last and great see all the Farrows and Moseleys and Bennets and Bullocks et al. First time we’ve seen Guy and Ali and kids for ages. I was really pleased to see Guy ‘cos he’s gone really grey! Poor old sod. I think Simon had been on the p**s since the Friday as he’d only had two pints on Sunday afternoon and was gone again. Apparently they had a Robbie Wiliams tribute band (Right Said Fred would have suited Farrow more) on the Friday night with a beer tent and something on Saturday night too. I’m going to pitch a tent up there for the whole three days next year……
After that took Dan to Kirkburton Junior Football Club signing on night at Soccer City. He’s going to start playing in the Under 7’s league soon. We were there for four hours and it was like an oven. Still the kids enjoyed it and I must have sweated off a couple of pounds, so result all ’round really.
That Bennet bloke still away but saw Boff at five a side footie last night. He said you’d been talking, which is brilliant news. He said you were talking a load of bollocks but of course I don’t belive him.
It’s the start of the first Ashes test today so hoping we can stuff them Aussie sheep shaggers but not going too well this morning. England won the toss but have lost three wickets cheaply – same old story but early days.
I keep hoping I’ll bump into that dangerous Dave bloke at the Smiths Arms to buy him a pint(s) but keep missing him. I saw him and Becks a couple of weeks ago on a Friday tea time but it was a real shame that I couldn’t talk for long as had my brother in law over from Finland.
End of waffle.
Keep getting better mate.
Cheers
The Smiffs
Still reading the blogs everyday and great to see Jonny is taking some bigger steps on the long long road to recovery. I was not sure if I should talk about racing at the moment but given “wifeys” positive comments and outlook heres an update for Jonny. Raced in the “Connection” mini at the weekend and managed qualify 4th (highest position so far). The “Connection IS” mini has been getting some good coverage on sky as of late but not for all the right reasons, put it in the wall at “Brands Hatch” but at least it got a slow motion coverage take from Sky sports (and sure Jonny will smile about this!). All TV times are on “www.minichallenge.co.uk”. Not a weekends racing goes by without thoughts towards JH and family and let me know if you would like me to keep blogging Jonny with updates on racing progress for you to read back to him.
good news annabelle, im sure with all your love and support he will be back to his old self sooner rather than later.

Hi everyone,
just caught up with the up-dates and also had an email from becky telling us the news that there has been a lot of progress, she was so excited and we are so pleased, it’s taking time but you’ll get there, stay strong
love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Annabelle
The news is wonderful to read ….. U must be so happy with Jonnys progress , each day is a better day and it looks like he is going one way now.
Hope u enjoyed yr meal last night.
Love to u all
Ady xxx
The good news is that I do not have to water all the plants in the garden today…the great news is that Jonny has had his trachy tube off and is doing brill without it, his neck brace is off so how wonderful it must feel to not have that on all the time…he has also said a few words answering to questions when in his rehab session this morning, has mouthed words before but with the trach tube in, sound is hard… So it really is all good stuff…There is still an awful long way to go, and patients are often confused for some time, but we still remain very positive as Jonny is moving forward! xx
hi Jonny
just touching base — been away for a few weeks — so back to real life again………
i think we are at week 12 now —— which i hear better things each week.
Had the children last weekend — so we all went to Upperthong to a something i simply do not know what it was called — it was in a field with bouncy castles and ‘welli’ throwing etc —– kids enjoyed it anyway.
weather has been good this last few weeks ——- today my wish came true — it rained.
we all still think about you every day – and look forward to the day your back.
take care my firend
love ady
Big kiss to J. Thinking of you all. Much love from Philip, Little Alex and I xxxx
Hey Jonny
Still reading the blog for news (and funny stories), Annabelle doing a great job of updating the masses. It’s great to hear things are improving and you are slowly on the mend.
Looking forward to the weekend, Jason (Wilkinson) back from NZ, so we are out in Holmfirth on Saturday night with him and Ash, Simon and Vicky, likely to be a messy one! I’m sure we will be raking up the reunion antics and all the old KJ’s stories! We will have a drink or two for you too.
Take Care
Love to you and all the family x Michelle & Clive, Dylan & Dex x
Hey up mate just touching base its bloody hot not that we are complaining – July already you wanna get outa thee bed lad as it wont last long soon be Christmas. Glad to hear you are improving keep up the good work lots of love Jawbs and Sue x
PJ – generally, Jonny on a sunday afternoon is like a labrador, ready to please with his tail wagging!!! Far too much information I know, but hey, made me smile xx
Hats off to “wifey”…what a woman! Jonny boy you had better get up soon for she deserves the biggest cuddle ever for putting up with you and your antics and then suggesting that she might let you go back for more! Lyn and I have just managed 25 years married (29th) with probably 16 of those enjoying curries with you, albeit less often since you found your “wifey”. Perhaps when you are charging about again, we can all have a chilli eating competition!
On our golf tour we have a chap who looks like everyone…I asked Lyn who, what or which animal you resembled: she said without hesitation ” a Yorkshire ferret…tough, hangs on and once he gets his teeth into something he never gives up”!
Can anyone else think of another comparison?
PJ and Lyn
We have had a lovely past few days with Jonny…seen some of the cheek returning…
I went to hand him a cloth to wipe his face, he started to move his hand up to his face and then handed it to me, “so you want me to do it, you cheeky sod” I said, he grinned from ear to ear…..
I have been giving him all these manicures and pedicures, I think he think he believes he has entered the realms of royalty with all this attention!
Fathers Day went well, Tamsin, only being 3, and the first time seeing Daddy for so many weeks, I think was a little intimidated by it all, but the day after, she did ask when she could go see Daddy again…James is now a regular weekly fixture on the visiting list. Nathan still tends to want to climb on J knee, but we not quite there yet! Bless him..
One question people do ask, is how are we all?…To answer re the kids and me, we all doing fine..Life has just taken a different turn for some months. No one knows what is around the corner, and this is a temporary blip for all of us..we have every faith that Jonny will be Jonny again. Some people mention, don’t you wish he did not motorbike, the answer to that is definitely no…what I really want is to get him back on a bike, its what he loves doing…Of course there are times when you do get upset and generally those times are when its late, there’s still so much to try and fit in the day, you are drained and you just wish none of this had happened…But it has, and we are just getting on with it. In a way we are pretty well prepared, having a child like Nathan does mean you have gone through some of this before.. A bit philosphilical, but my motto is you get what you get in life, and you have to just get on with it, and maybe its because you can handle it…
Its lovely to have all the support and we know that everyone is routing for him, Jonny has got some amazing friends! So thank you, carry on, its great to read the messages, and if you have any stories about times you have spent to together, we love those ones, they make us smile.
Thanks xx
Hello mate – just checking in.
Don’t know what’s happening to me at the moment – I’ve just done the Leeds 10K and now signed up for the York 10K. Must be getting some energy from you somehow, because given the choice, I would stay in bed on a Sunday until well into the afternoon. Getting up at 6.30am on a Sunday to prep and travel to a 10K run event is madness and I really don’t know why I keep lining myself up for such things!!! Granted; not as mad as attempting a marathon (I’ll never be that crazy (Annabelle)!), but a bit weird all the same.
I know you are an ‘up and at it’ person – whereas I’m probably one of the laziest people on earth and could easily sleep for 20+ hours if I had a chance. I don’t know what’s changing me, but I suspect it may be related to having the last 7 years of my sleep and dreams interrupted almost every night with one or other of two young kids jumping on me at 6am for good measure – I don’t know. What I do know is that my default behaviour is ‘lazy’ and I think I need some help from you to sort me out.
I challenge you therefore, to snap out of your slumber, and introduce me into the world of being more active. Let me know when you’re ready and I’ll be your trainee…
Love to you and the family,
Tommy.

I can’t class myself as a friend as I don’t really know johnny too well, but I always work on the premis that any friend of Coddy’s is a friend of mine as he aint too bad a judge of character.
I have been on the recieving end of the Johnny Hill smile which I could liken to Paul Newman’s in my favorite film ‘Cool Hand Luke.’
My friends have also been on the receiving end of his generosity and a round of drinks bought and some side splitting banter for a gang of guys you hardly know always gets remembered by me, cant remember fastening my boots this morning, but do remember good people.
There are an awful lot of guys like myself who are always asking a little further down the line how johnny is doing, how his missis and family are managing and generally doing what a lot of people do, dont actually speak up and say come on son, we’re all pulling for you, even though they really want to.
So on behalf of everyone who is reading the blog but just staying quiet on the side, for those who only vaguely know johnny but still always ask how he is doing and for those guys like me who wish they could do something to help but are just at a complete loss as to what it could be they can do which will show support, I’ll speak on there behalf and say every one of us is thinking of you and the beers are on us next time we all see you… hope its soon
Best regards
Chris Day
Come on now jonny, it’s time to wake up, everyone is missing you especially your wife and children! It’s good to hear that you are making progress keep up the good work. Your not really missing much apart from the sun has decided to make an appearence recently. God bless you, we all thinking of you in your time of need. Loads of love Harriet & family.
I can’t call myself a close personal friend but have known of and known Jonathon 10 years plus and I just wanted to add my sincere wishes that he continues to recover from his accident. All the best to “wifey”, David et al from the Pask clan and everyone at Albion.
Hi Johnny,
Glad to see that you seem to be making progress, you never did do anything quickly !!!!!
It seems a long time since the school reunion but what a good night and so good to see you again.

Hi hon,
Happy Fathers day, we thought about you and the family today. Busy weekend, you were missed at the Scarecrow trail yesterday the Hill household put in a fantastic entry, come to think of it I don’t think you did the trail we just met you at the Rose and Crown …. funny that! The kids really enjoyed it thought and we’ve found a house that also does pimms, larger and bikkies, result, so were going straight there next year.
Finally got my greenhouse now and Annabelle’s going to do a little veg patch so with the fruit trees and Louis bringing home the rabbits were nearly self sufficient at Woodlea Farm, just need a goat and a couple of chickens – we’ll let The farmhouse get them!
Well just checked the time and should have been in bed half hour ago as usual, keep doing what your doing, oh and by the way Phil and James did it for the lads in the beer tent at the Honley show, you’d have been proud of them.
Love all xxx
Oops sorry lads I did mean DRINKING in the beer tent, just to clear that up!
Hi J.
Sorry for the delay in getting this posting to you. When I think about trying to stick an excuse in, I realise I dont’ have one – so I’ll skip that bit!
Ran in the Leeds 10K today and was thinking about you whilst going around the course mate. You were probably watching me out the window and having a laugh at my puffing and panting. It’s a good run mate – and one I’m intent on getting you to participate in in the future. Annabelle was confident enough to sponsor me (thanks Annabelle!) on behalf of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund – so; to save yourself a bit of cash next year, you’ll have to sign up as a runner
.
Annabelle – please don’t enter into this run as you’ll crucify all of us mortals and show us up big time!!!
Cheers,
Tom.
Hi Jonny
Somwhile since I last added to the Blog.
It’s great to read some of the really good messages from lots of different people and they must uplift your spirits to know that so many people are thinking of you.
Annabelle’s updates are great to hear about your progress and quite enlightening to here about family life with the Hill’s.
Just wanted to wish you well and to let you know that both Linda and I are thinking of you and look forward to the Day when you are back.
On the business front I am still very active and getting the buzz from the new designs which are being well recieved, a big thank you to you, and all of the Connection team for making my job easier.
All our very best wishes to you and the family.
Robin and Linda
Us back again, just sent Becky a Happy Birthday email, have a feeling she might be up to see you today providing work allows her to … so pleased to read that you’re making progress … stay strong and positive.
All our love to you and your family

Hiya Johnny!
It’s Uncle Sez!
Here I go again, waiting for you as always. It’s time you got out of bed. If it’s not waiting for you on the snow board it’s waiting for you on the mountain bike or the enduro bike or waiting for you to finish your pint! Time to pull your finger out and keep up! I’m waiting…………….!
All the best,
Sez
hello my old friend ,
Good to know things are on the mend — keep going…..
Just got back from holiday & today I’m at the childrens sports day — I’m sat next to Ken Morrisons — have not mentioned to him I supply or products to him !
Still thinking of you all & with fathers day coming up this weekend my heart goes out to the Children.
Get strong …..
Love Ady
Glad to read Jonny is making progress, I hope he’s back to his old self in no time!!
Much love to you J Annabelle & the kids at this time.

When Mel and I arrived at Darley Moor about 10 weeks ago you had just been scooped off in the air ambulance for much needed treatment. I saw you soon after that in hospital and things looked battered and broken. But what struck me then and every week since is how your spirit remains so strong and so endearing. Bones are healed and I cannot wait to talk proper bloke rubbish about how much your collar bone lump sticks out more than mine. I have not read any of the other blogs because they are for you not me. I know a week for you is like a minute for me, but do not worry I, alongside all your other friends, are happy to wait.
Hi Jonny. Just wanted to drop you a line to say that you are doing so well and keep up the hard work. You are making us so proud with your progress. Little and often seems a good thing! We miss you so much and are behind you all the way in your recovery. It’s fathers day this Sunday and I believe the kids are coming to see you. James has been fantastic. Well, you better hurry up because in 4 weeks time you will be an uncle again. I’ll have to bring Pinnock junior onto the ward… If that doesn’t wake you up, it certainly will your neighbours! We’re coming up to see you next week and can’t wait. Take it easy until then…! Love you lots. Sally.x
Well its late (for me) Thursday, and I am watching Grey’s Anatomy, which I don’t think is a good idea as it makes me cry my eyes out each week (but hey all things considering that’s probably not such a bad thing..)..
Last Sunday I got cross with the ole fella, told him to stop ignoring me and that I was there because I wanted to be there…he seemed to respond better to the old wife nagging style.., turned his head to look at me and kept it there for the remainder of my visiting… We have also (I apologise for the intimacy here), started kissing again…seems to quite like this type of welcome and goodbye, he responds to me which is just wonderful!
Mr Hill is on the waitlist for rehabilitation and hopefully that won’t take forever…he has lost an awful lot of muscle tone and it will take some time to get his strength back, as well as all the other things he has to cope with!
Its Fathers Day on Sunday (in case any of you have forgotten)…kids have made cards and I have got permission from the senior sister for the kids to go see Daddy…(children under 12 are generally not allowed on the ward without asking)…It will be the first time that Tamsin will have seen Daddy…and it has been almost 10 weeks come Sunday…am sure it is a bigger deal for us than her, 3 year olds seem to take everything in their stride, as does Nathan the autistic family contingent, can learn a lot from these two..
Anyway, apart from that, all you need to know is that Louis the dog is still the rabbit catcher and Nathan is still biting any child younger than him….at least we are consistent at home.
LOL to all, and make sure we all buy Old Man Pie album, Greg could at least retire then and carry on the cowboy jobs at home!!!!!! xxx
Jonny,
It’s a few weeks since I last left a message on the blog, as I’m sure you can appreciate, things have been pretty busy.
In fact in my last update, I threatened to keep sending you Limericks, but I seem to have run out of rhymes with all the other competitive folk posting on the blog (some excellent attempts I will admit).
It’s business as usual at Connection, we’re driving all the projects we’d planned. The new products all look fantastic, as does the literature and no £25 chairs this year!!!! Kelvin returned from Neocon today, after his jolly (only joking Kelvin!!), with some really good feedback.
Sorry to be boring, but as an Accountant I can’t help it……Euro rate hit 1.18 earlier this week…..and with potential to rise further.
I had a week’s holiday in the Lakes in early June (feels like a few months ago now mind!) – with Vicky & Tilly. It was great to get the batteries charged up & can you believe it – the weather was fantastic too.
Everyone is doing a fantastic job at Connection. Kelvin and I are very proud of the team and so too will you when you get back. The team is pulling together, everyone chipping in, to ensure that we are as efficient as ever.
I’ve started to get slightly concerned about our bet from many months ago – remember, we said if you had a no 1 haircut, I would bleach blonde my hair. Yep – I’m worried after reading about your army haircut, however I believe “lapse of time” under contract law rescues me!
It’s great to hear that you continue to improve. Everyone is continually asking after you and wishing you all the best.
Take care for now,
Tim.
Hi Jonny,
sorry i’ve been away from the blog for a while.
thinking of you everyday. Mainly around lunchtime and teatime. Joking !
see ya soon.
oh and by the way, did I mention OLD MAN PIE signing a record deal, relaeasing an album on Tuesday and having a 2 1/2 minute slot on CNN live on Tuesday morning. Honestly you couldn’t make it up !
And just in case John Firth doesn’t get roud to his MotoGP review, take it from me Catalunya was the best yet and I think that it is now official. Rossi is a God.

The Bells…..dont forget curry’s awaiting. x
Hi mate, sounds like all is making progress with you – Kelvin says the road to full recovery is long but I’m sure you’ll find some petrol powered rehab machine to speed it up!! Best wishes as always, Dave

Hello Jonny
Hope you are still improving but aren’t you getting a bit fed up of the nurses constant attention and bed baths?
Charnock says that Nurse Mim is always available to administer what she does best. Not quite sure what he meant but it’s very kind and I’m sure it will be beneficial.
Everthing still the same in good old Highburton except that Bennett bloke has gone on holiday for three months or something. We didn’t notice he wasn’t there at five a side footie on Tuesday night until we got to the pub and realised it was his round.
Simon Farrow has kindly given me a lead for a Hungarian company making natural a Viagra product. For some reason he said that when he heard about it he immediatlery thought of me. Cheeky sod. (Actually my supplies were getting low but don’t tell anybody). The product is called Black Rhino at the moment. Can’t see it working – can you imagine the chat up line? Want to come back to my place? I’ve got a black rhino…………
Anyway keep geting stronger mate and we’re thinking about you.
Cheers
Ian and the Smiff clan.

Hello Jonathan…
Elizabeth Taylor here… not THE Elizabeth Taylor – (John Bob’s Mum from Skipton!)
Just want to let you know that I am thinking about you, and was upset to hear of your accident – I’ve spent many hours worrying about my son John on his motorbikes, so I know exactly how your family are feeling, and I wish you the speediest of recoveries and I’m glad to read (via Johnbob’s computer), that you seem to be well on the mend.
I’ve had a lovely conversation or two with your Mum and Dad – it was great to catch up with them after all this time; shame it’s not under happier circumstances.
So come on ‘Sonny Jim’ lets see you up and at it again.
Love and best wishes
‘Auntie’ Elizabeth Taylor
(Married but once!)
Hi Jonny
going for some sunshine for a week or so …..hope you carry on making progress…..everyone is
rooting for you …..will have a beer or 2 for you !
Afternoon Jonny lad!
Been a while away from the blog and it’s taken some time to catch up on the reading….I can blame you when the business goes under due to time spent reading blogs! Good to hear you’re making improvements, but if you leave it any longer Connection will have to start allocating you day passes to reply to all these messages of love/abuse…not forgetting abussive love!
Keep batting away lad and when you decide to get out of your pit let me know immediately – I’ve never had to talk to Tim so much (for updates) and it’s not something I want to make a habit of! Ha ha.
All the best pal and love to Annabelle and the kids!
Hi Super trooper,
It is very good to read that you are doing better. Ga vooral zo door.
Greetings
Arjan
come on johnny keep going
Its been more of a normal weekend in the Hill household (thank goodness!).
Last friday we were involved in one of J’s rehab sessions…he did very well and it was lovely to see it all and be a part of.. The rehab is done in a quiet room, and it does make you realise that the ward is pretty noisy and over stimulating for him.
Took eldest son James to see J for the first time on Saturday, think James was rather nervous and also excited – it all went well and he now wants to go again..
Craig – if you scroll down a few pages there is explanation from Bob where Jonny got the Willy from!!
Another week, and how much rain, garden now totally out of control, think I will hide out down at Connection more often than I am to avoid the weeding (at least that’s what Jonny’s trick was I reckon)!
Well you! keeping this going for some time now aren’t we! can’t beleive Annabelle had to deal with a shoe less drunk in a stream without you there! We will miss our ” souvla time” in a few weeks without you here!it chaos here at the mo, our cypriot friends have decided to build a round about on the main road into Coral bay which means the road is shut but in true cypriot style no diversion signs! we are ok but the poor toruists are going round in circles! I swear they do it deliberately! (why didn’t they do it in january ?? because they are Cypriot and that would be logical !!) add to this making the main road at Banana bay dual carriageway ( one way only!!) and replacing all the drains between here and paphos and its madness!! our friends at Poppadoms have sales down 70% as there is no access, need you back to help adress this!!
We have 9 more early mornings before we break up for summer ( you will have forgotten what an eary morning is!) but god we are on countdown! although this morning the fisherman was out with his stereo on loud to attract his fish!! ( some sort of logic in there|!) then the road sweeper came at 5am! ( cars out on road so nothing swept) followed by bin men at 5.40am so tired now and its friday night!
Mad dog looks as though he has been plastering again, he could hardely walk with all the heavy plaster dganling under him!
Not a lot more news at the mo, take care keep on the good recovery work but get your butt in gear to give Annabelle a break! here would be a fab place to convalesce!
takes care thinking of you all
lots of love the Moaklers
xxx

Q
GI Jonny,
Well mate – just had to drop you another line to let you know I’m thinking about you.
I’ve been working from home as usual today. Everyone keeps asking me how I manage to focus on work and not piss about – but when there’s so much to do, and so many deadlines to keep, the opportunities for fannying about never arise in the first place…. Anyway – with you being in your predicament, I have been able to take high-pressure situations with a bucket of salt lately. I can see how futile it is to get overly stressed about stuff that, in context, is of very little real importance.
Keep on keeping on mate…. Something that is genuinely important now is that you get yourself righted.
Thinking of you,
Love to you and all the family,
Tommy.
saw your lovely wife at the gym today, was really nice to see her, wish i cud get steve to go but fighting a loosing battle!!!!! steve and gyms dont match……… steve sends his best and is pleased to hear your making progress, sending our best wishes xxxxxx
Hey Jonny
Craig here…from somewhere sunny in the US.
I heard the news via Mr Downey (aka Invisible Man Rock Cafe) and found this site. It is impressive the ammount of friends you have. I thought you kept yourself to yourself. yeahh right.
There is a lot of love on here and righlty so. You are a hard dude and will overcome any battle. I have seen it. keep it up and then you can punch your next door neighbour John the Golfer for me as he needs it..!
Now what I find confusing is why Jonny willy? I have known you for over 30 years and have never heard you called Jonny Willy. What is the Willy bit for? What’s it mean? Seriously..Someone?
It is interesting reading the blog and catching up with the Hudds life, alot of characters, some I know some I don’t, but I admire and join the love reaching out to you.
Well at least you have something to look forward to – A Ride on Adrians tractor! WOW Adrian you sad bastard…lol…get a life.
keep it up and get well, quick. Looking out for you.

Hi Jonny
Didn’t realise you’d been enlisted against your will; the army haircut.
Moto GP; Stoner ended Rossi’s unbeaten run of successive wins at Mugello on Sunday. Another wet start which saw riders changing bikes mid race. Marco Melandri actually led at one point on the Hayate Kawasaki but ultimately couldn’t match his previous podium place. Stoner managed to break away from Capirossi, who also led briefly but his tyres faded and he slipped back to 5th. Lorenzo fell off on the warm up lap (apparently as I missed the start) but made the start and ultimately got close to Stoner in the closing laps. Rossi, having been a bit more cautious over when to go to slicks this time, left himself too much to do on the hard tyre but made it to 3rd just pipping Dovizioso. Pedrosa binned it and is getting increasingly battered and as such smiles even less than the miserable little sod ever used to. Interesting stuff and the championship is still quite close at the top.
At home we turned the cows out to grass a couple of weekends ago and shifted them into a new field on Saturday. Jack ‘helped’ Mum and me rig the electric fence up for them. We also tagged the new calf and let him and his mum out into the adjacent field by themselves. We’ll put them back with the others when she is a bit steadier on her feet.
Eventually used the pasture topper that dad got from you the other weekend too. Just cut a few docks and weeds. Retrieved the rest of our tackle from the sheds at Bellgreave on Monday night and am hoping to cut some grass soon before there becomes too much of it for us. Spent last night getting covered in grease whilst greasing up the mower and haybob which haven’t been used for the last two seasons. Hopefully they will still work and not just rattle to bits when I stick some power through them. Watching the weather now. Just typical that it should become grey and threaten rain by the weekend after the recent clear blue skies and scorching temperatures.
Rode past your place on my mountain bike last Thursday night, but had to cut my ride short due to a loose crank. Turned out it was just the cap bolt that needed tightening but I didn’t have a 10mm Allen key with me.
Charlotte confessed to drawing smiley faces on the back of her friend’s wardrobe robe doors. Thankfully it came off. She had to ring ‘Auntie Clare’ and apologise and she was made to feel very sorry so hopefully she won’t go ‘tagging’ anything else.
Stay on track! Keep recovering. Catch you again soon.
Johnny
We had a lovely day last week with the Mini Hills and the Mini Greaves who all got on like a house on fire……….
Went to Cheeky Monkeys, then swimming…..James concerned about his eye in the water but he wore his goggles so they protected it. He and Edward then finished off with a football session in the garden and more Match Attax swapping which is totally beyond me!!
Princess Tamsin Aurora and Princess Charlotte Angelina has a fab day too, they finished with yet another dressing up session. They have definately not quite got the concept thet less is more!!!!!
They both wore every piece of jewellry that they own and odd high heel shoes!………
Tried to help Nathan sort his computer out.. but it definately all went over my head. ( not difficult..)
Girls enjoyed ballet this week….Nice to have a catch up Annabelle….your strength, organisation love and determination for Jonny and the minis is awe inspiring.
Goodnight, Godbless.
Vx
Thought it about time we give you an update from the Smoke…
As we planned the showrooms had a bit of a facelift, in at the weekend with Michelle putting the in the finishing touches…. painting, cleaning, moving furniture… moving it again… and again… we finally left around 7.30pm pleased with our efforts.
First day today of the Pre Prima Brunch, pretty well attended and lots of good response to the new products. Tomorrow will be the big day, party night at PRIMA so most of our customers over for drinks beforehand, looking forward to a busy one.
Lots of people asking after you and sending their best wishes.
Tracey.
Glad to hear you’re making progress. All the best from the Dances
Hello mate
Just catching up and glad to see that the blogs are still coming through thick and fast.
Didn’t contribute last week, we all went Tenefife on hols. Never been there before but it’s a great place -once you identify all the Eastenders meets Brookside bars – then walk in the opposite direction as fast as possible. God I’ve never seen so many Sunday Roasts/English Breakfasts/Karaoke/Builders Bums/Cockney w*****s/Scouse moustaches/Bright red sunburn/Pukka Pies/Dodgy Chaz N Dave CD’s/Liverpool FC baseball caps in all my life! Bloody cockneys and scousers have ruined it. Before Bennett or Charnock or Mosley butt in, no I didn’t feel at home or like it at all. Mind you were were going to have an English breafast by the beach one morning but overslept.
Went to a great water park with a near vertical 35 metre slide. You end up going through a narrow tube at the bottom at about 45mph. You’d have loved it but I’ve had to have my pacemaker upgraded but glad I was wearing me truss at the time. It also had a huge pool at least the size of three football pitches with a sandy beach all the way ’round it, also a wave machine making 3 metre waves. I loved it! Sorry, meant the kids loved it……
Anyway back to reality and work again now. It’s alright for you sitting on your arse all day……
Really pleased to hear you are still making progress Jonny. Keep it going.
Cheers
The Smiffs in Highburton
Hi Jonny
Just checking in to see how you are doing and glad to hear of the positive progress you are making its great news.
It seems like the antics haven’t stopped at your house while you have been sleeping. Love to you and all the family. xxx
Ern and Helen
Mr Curry Hill, How can you let them give you an “army haircut”? Join the ranks of the hippies…not many of us left? How is David?
Off to get some sun in Spain, just as it arrives here! Keep getting better…new products look good.
PJ and Lyn
Still reading the bloggs on a daily basis and glad to see you are making progress. Racing this weekend at Brands and will give you update but missing your positive comments! such as when asked where you would like the “connection” sponsorship stickers, think your answer at the time was on the bottom of the car as this was most likely to get TV coverage!
Keep up the progress.
Steve
Its been an interesting few days in the Hill household…
Louis (the hound dog) has continued his rabbit hunting, Nathan thinks he is Edward Scissorhands, James’ eye is healing well and Tamsin would like us all to call her Princess Tamsin Aurora – I think she believes Jordan is her mum and not me.
Bit of an incident the other evening, started around midnight Friday, heard voices in the wood, they seemed to die down, back to sleep. Then Nathan woke up a little later, kicking and banging, heard voices again, then one voice shouting “Help me” and groaning…Started fretting, got the dogs, baseball bat, closing all windows and checking doors. Called 999, “police or ambulance?”, Not sure, maybe both….me thinks someone may be murdered in the wood at this point…..Police are decided the best route, be with me in 15mins, helicopter on standby with infra red in case they cannot find the body….then I hear more voices…and finally the police turn up… Off they go into the wood, flash lights…Needless to say, Tamsin has now also woken up and the three of us are hiding in the living room, me having visions of having to walk the dogs pass all sorts the next morning…. Few moments later they come back…..drunk and disorderly character lost for 3 hours (now 3.15am)…. Phone up the valley neighbours the next morning to which Mr Smith says, “Sleep Well?”, turns out he was one of the voices shouting to the bloke….who had been stuck in the stream, lost his shoe and ended up in a load of nettles – well that will teach him for trespassing!
So Jonny darling, despite it all being a good story to tell, at one point we were pretty scared and needed a good male influence in the house…Did think about letting Louis the Hound after the man in the woods, but then thought better of it…
Update on Jonny, been rather tired these last few days, not as upbeat as last Tuesday. Going to give his feet a good going over tonight, they are still shedding…and he has had an army haircut, turned up yesterday and had to double take…feels nicer on the hands though!
Hi hon,
Just back off hols, great to hear you’ve made progress keep it up.
The weather is fab and is looking to stay, we’ve notified the Honley show to warn them that profits in the beer tent look to be down this year but I’m sure Phil will do his bit for the lads!
Annabelle don’t forget if you need any new pets Bobbi is still here, actually re-named Bobinda when we realised he was a she! Actually I’ve warmed to her you can take her out without a lead and she does’nt run off like Alfie.
Anyways keep doing the good stuff Jonny boy and we so hope to see you soon.
Love all xxx
Hey Jonny,
I am writing this message sitting on one of the first chairs you made 15 years ago, so come back soon and start popping those staples! FIX THE DAMNED THING………….
Good old Dad gave me the wrong Blogg address so frantically been trying to find this site. Great fun your Dad but now suffering from CREEPING SENILITY – ha ha.
Read a lot of the messages – you are certainly loved and respected. It appears they all need you. I cannot wait to hear the happy news of your return. When it happens, Nikki and I will go and sit on the terrace at the Oriental and drink a bottle of champagne to celebrate – David can you send me your credit card number?
Come back soon Jonny, lots going on
